Student Services

Student Counseling

Director of Students Affairs, Chief of Administration, Program Coordinators and Class Teachers closely monitor the academic progress, behavioral aspects and the overall development of personality of the students, and provide timely feedback. These officials also act as Mentors to help the students as and when they are in need.

Bridge Courses

To bridge the gap between the existing level of knowledge and required level for the current program in which the students have enrolled, the College offers extra classes to newly enrolled students on some basic areas, such as:

  • Computer, Mathematics, Communication Skills for Bachelors level students.
  • Case Analysis, Communication Skills and Analytical Skills for masters level students

Career Counseling

Apex College has developed and implemented an effective system for continuous monitoring of every student’s progress and for providing appropriate guidance faor their betterment. Student counseling service is available to help students better plan their academic activities as well as their further career. The College helps the students recognize and enhance their latent talents/potentials through regular counseling. Experienced and knowledgeable faculty members are available to guide them to match their ability and skills with their interests, and to help make the right choice of the specialization subjects.

Photo Copy Center

Considering students’ need for making copies of reference materials, the College has out-sourced a photocopy center in addition to the one run by the College itself. At the center, any reference materials, hand-outs and notes can be copied on a subsidized rate.

Cafeteria

The College has two cafeterias, one in the main building and the other (under construction) in Block C. The cafeterias, both situated on the roof-top, are spacious, bright and airy. They are open throughout the working hours and serve a variety of hygienic foods and beverages at reasonable prices.

Student Activities

Apex lays a very strong emphasis on extra-curricular activities to ensure overall development of a student’s personality. A semester plan for extra-curricular activities is prepared for the whole program, based on which the activities are carried out. The following are the major extra-curricular events held in the past one year.

Apex’s Social Contributions

  • Apex continues to maintain the “Pipal Bot Chautari” at Old Baneshwor.
  • Donations to natural disaster victims (every year since 2002).
  • Food and other merchandize distribution to the senior citizens in old-age-homes.
  • Blood donation programs (at least twice a year)
  • Maintenance of places of public interest in the community.

Seminar on Environment Protection

Apex organized a one-day Seminar on Environment Protection and its Impact on Tourism in coordination with Management Students Association of Nepal, on the eve of the Environment Day, 2007. The objective of the seminar was to emphasize on the importance of environment protection for sustainable development of the country, with special reference to the growth of tourism sector in Nepal.

The program was addressed by Ms. Ambica Shrestha (senior tourism entrepreneur and CEO, (Hotel Dwarika’s), Mr. Karna Shakya (senior tourism entrepreneur and Chairman, Kathamndu Guest House), Mr. Pravat Rimal (Station Manager, Kantipur FM) and Mr. Khadananda Dhakal (Under Secretary, NG/Ministry of Tourism).

Apex Alumni Association (A-Cube)

One of the main strengths of Apex is its alumni network. Apex Alumni Association (A-CUBE) is the official alumni body of Apex graduates. It is a non-profit organization that aims to foster mutually beneficial relationship between Apex, its alumni members and the business and social sectors at large by promoting alumni engagements and advancing the mission of Apex.

Apex Achievers Club (AAC)

Apexians always devise something nobel to groom and enhance their creative potential. Apex Achievers Club is one such creative forum initiated and run by Apexians that aims to develop the overall personality of the students, ensure their academic enhancement and provide them with ample exposure to latest trends in management and technology. The Achievers Club organized programs such as: Apex Day Celebration, blood donation programs, advertisement competitions, documentary shows, talk programs, fund-raising programs, etc.

Apex Techno Club

This is a forum of IT-savvy Apexians formed to gather, review and publish articles and write-ups relating to new technology and research.

Apex Students Research Club (ASRC)

ASRC is devoted to creating and honing research skills in students and has been very instrumental in bringing young talents together. Members of ASRC have designed and developed a Robot and have organized seminars on emerging technologies such as Voice over Internet Protocol, Bluetooth Technology, to name a few.
