Dear Prospective Student,
First of all. I would like to thank you and your parents for considering Apex for your further study. Apex started in August 2000 as a College for Bachelor's level education in Computer Information Systems and Business Administration. Within a span of one half years, we added BE computer and MBA programs, likewise, continuing our tradition of introducing market demanded new programs, we added BE Electronics and Communication program in 2003.
It has been a little over a years since we established Apex National Scholarship to enable exceptionally bright Nepali students with limited means from over the country to study at Apex. This program provides tuition waiver to two students from each department. Eight current students are benefited from this program. This program is in addition to the regular meritbased scholarship that the college has been offering, right from the outset, at least 5 percent of our students.
Let me now talk about the three important accomplishments of our College. First, we have pioneered in Nepal in introducing a new concept of course pointers for real time tracking of teaching-learning activities of all courses offerings at our college. The course pointers system enables management to continuously monitor, on line, course progress by generating reports that provide chapter and subchapter level summary of classroom activities. Moreover, this system also automatically generates, following the principal of Management by Exception, special reports if any course activity is too slow or too fast. Second last year we introduced the concept of virtual classroom that has proved very useful in giving out our students' assignments and handouts through the Internet even at times when they cannot come to the college because of freguent strikes. Third, we have assisted Pokhara University in its effort to overhaul its examination control system.
We recognize the value of hand-on real life experience to further reinforce and broaden students' knowledge. Our students have completed project and internship works with several organizations including Nepal Stock Exchange, Bank of Kathmandu. Nepal Bank, Nepal Rastra, Gorkha Brewery, Everest Bank, Standard
Chartered Bank, Nabil Bank, Nepal SBI Bank, Himalayan Bank, Panchakanya Steel, ICMOD, Necon Air, Neco Tusurance, Lumbini Bank and Yeti Travels, The positive feedbacks from internship supervisor's is a testimony of our students sincerity ands hard work. Eminent Guest Lecture Series that bring acclaimed scholars of various fields to speak with our student on Sundays has now become an almost regular feature of Apex for over two years the program has been highly useful in reinforcing broadening and enriching students' learning experience. We also regularly organize industrial tours that provide students with opportunities to observe and learn about production, processing, testing, packaging and other processes in real like business settings.
Two batches of our MBA student have graduated and joined the job market. Some of the reputed organizations our MBA students have joined include, among others. Nepal Bank, Subisu Cablenet, Nabil Bank, World Distribution Nepal, Himalayan Bank, Hukam Pharmaceuticals, Chaudhary Group and Standard Chartered Bank. Likewise, two batches of BBA and first batch of BCIS students have already graduated and almost all of them either have jobs in leading private and public sector organizations including, others, Hyatt Regency, Himalayan bank, KIA Motors, Boss Magazine, or are pursuing further studies within Nepal and abroad including the US and the UK.
Our students have excelled in various spheres of life. Anup Shrestha, our current MBA student, has won Boss Top Three Management Students Award 2004. Last year Raja Aryal, our MBA graduate, had won this award. Our students have done equally well in sports and other extra- and co-curricular activities. I hope you have found the information provided here in useful. I would like to invite you to visit the College and see for yourself what we have to offer, Thank You.
Yours Sincerely
