BCIS
The four-year Bachelors of Computer Information Systems (BCIS) is the first of its kind program in the country. It is an intensive program that strongly and adequately emphasizes both conceptual foundations and practical applications, both in the areas of information technology and management. As the BCIS program is comparable to similar programs elsewhere in the world, our students, upon graduation from the BCIS program, will have an added advantage of being able to directly pursue Masters level programs in the US, UK or elsewhere in the world.
Objectives
The BCIS program aims, among others, at:
- Preparing students to take up entry level managerial positions and to start a professional career in computer information systems;
- Inculcating a positive attitude, abilities and practical skills soessential for competent and responsible computer professionals; and
- Developing a necessary foundation for Masters level studies in Computer Information Systems or in Computer Science.
Career Opportunities (BCIS)
The demand for BCIS degree holders is enormous worldwide. A large number of organizations employ competent and skilled professionals to analyze, design, implement and manage their information systems to excel in today’s competitive environment. Organizations- public or private, small or large, domestic or international, for-profit or not-for-profit, will absorb ever-growing number of skilled and competent computer professionals for years to come. Students, upon graduation from the BCIS program, are expected to work as programmers, system analysts, information analysts, database managers, network administrators, trainer cum instructors and the like.
